Playdead is teaming up with publisher 505 Games to release the Inside/Limbo Double Pack on Sept. 12 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
This special edition release of Playdead’s critically acclaimed puzzle platformers will be available for $29.99 at select retailers. Players who purchase the Double Pack will also receive collector’s items including a limited run poster and an art card.
Limbo was Playdead’s debut game, originally releasing for the Xbox 360 in 2010 for Microsoft’s “Summer of Arcade” promotion. Limbo went on to win multiple awards including several “Best of” awards in 2010. The game was praised for its eerie black and white atmosphere, minimalistic storytelling, and stunning art direction. Since its release, Limbo has been ported to several consoles.
Inside received near equal acclaim as Limbo when it released in 2016, including a 95% rating from Gaming Illustrated. The game debuted for the Xbox One but released on PC and PS4 shortly after. Playdead’s ambitions with Inside made it more than just a spiritual successor to Limbo. The game built on the developer’s creative vision and expanded it in new ways.
505 Games’ has recently published a number of noteworthy titles including Payday 2, Terraria, Abzu, Virginia, and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. They have also helped with distribution of Rocket League, Stardew Valley, Dead by Daylight and Don’t Starve. In 2018 the publisher will help release Koji Igarashi’s Kickstarted project, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
