Physical Version of Shovel Knight Coming to Retail

/ Jun 30th, 2015 No Comments

Shovel Knight

A physical version of Shovel Knight will be available at retail outlets in North America beginning Oct. 13, developer Yacht Club Games announced.

The boxed edition of the game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS and will cost $19.99. A boxed version of the game will also release for PC in Europe on Oct. 16.

Yacht Club Games said the physical copy will feature the original game and all future updates. New content will include the upcoming Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows, which is expected to be available digitally before the release of the physical game.

The physical version of Shovel Knight will also include the Specter Knight’s campaign, the King Knight’s campaign, a battle mode where up to four players can duel against each other, and body swap mode. A full manual will be packaged inside the box.

Shovel Knight can be pre-ordered now at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, Gamestop and Amazon.

Quick Take

Yacht Club Games said Shovel Knight has sold more than 700,000 copies, so it may be difficult to find an audience for the physical version. However, it is perfect for anyone who has yet to experience the game, and fans who didn’t back the Kickstarter will find it a good way to score some nice Shovel Knight rewards.
