Persona 5 gameplay has finally seen the light of day courtesy of a new trailer released by Atlus.
[adsense250itp]During a marathon livestream packed with Persona news, Atlus debuted a lengthy trailer for the next entry in the series featuring new cutscenes, character information, and more.
Though little is known of the story, Persona 5 looks to feature the traditional high school setting found in the previous games. While it may be hard to tell at this point, the main protagonist, along with his two friends and a cat, moonlight as either superheroes or burglars at night. Donning costumes and masks, the characters sneak around and do battle with personas.
Atlus fans are likely to note the visual similarities with the previous PS3 and Xbox 360 title, Catherine. While Persona 5 may not be as adult as Catherine was, the upgraded visuals may signify a more mature Persona experience.
Originally announced for the PS3 in November 2013, Persona 5 was planned for a winter 2014 release in Japan but was ultimately delayed. Last year at a Sony press conference it was announced the game would also be coming to the PlayStation 4 and release in 2015.
Persona 5 Trailer
Persona 5 looks amazing. Even based off this brief glimpse into what will likely be an engaging, expansive RPG. From the red color theme, art direction, and great music all the elements that could make for a great Persona game seem to be in place. And, as always, the wait gets even harder.
