Tomodachi Life, the Mii-populated game that is already a hit in Japan, will be available for the 3DS in the U.S. on June 6, Nintendo announced in a special Tomodachi Life-themed Nintendo Direct.
In Tomodachi Life, completely customizable Miis populate an island world. Players can create new Miis and drop them into the game world. Characters behave based on personality traits selected by the player. The more Miis present, the more drama that will unfold.

In Japan–where “tomodachi” means “friend”–the Tomodachi franchise has already become wildly popular, selling more than 5.5 million units.
Tomodachi Life will be available on both 3DS and 2DS systems. It will be sold in retail stores and as a downloadable title from the Nintendo eShop at a price of $34.99.
Christina Aguilera has signed on to live the Tomodachi life. The singer will part of Nintendo’s promotional campaign for the game. Players will be able to use Aguilera’s Mii in Tomodachi Life at launch.
As part of the campaign, Aguilera will appear in TV spots and online videos promoting the game, the first of which can be watched below.
