Dark Souls: Remastered

There are a lot of exciting games coming out over the upcoming week. However, for many it is all going to be about the new David Cage joint.

This week’s new releases include Runner3, State of Decay 2, Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, Dark Souls: Remastered, and Detroit: Become Human.

Runner3 – Switch, PC – May 22

Love and happiness is in danger as The Timbletot has a determination to see it voiced throughout the entire multiverse. Luckily for the multiverse, CommanderVideo is the ultimate lover and won’t let the this aggression stand. With an array of acrobatic moves and quick wits, he is going to take on the enormity of hatred and save all the love.



Charles Martinent returns as “The Narrator” to bring life to the latest adventure of CommanderVideo! Runner3’s endless running action features levels multiple branching paths with different difficulties to choose from. As you explore levels, you can embark on Hero Quests given by the game’s oddball characters. There are even vehicles to pilot on this wild adventure.

Runner3 has plenty of additional ways to play like extremely tough Challenge Levels, and every level has a “retro” level for players to experience the action in a way they haven’t before. Oh and it has new bonus characters like Shovel Knight, Eddie Riggs of Brutal Legend, and Charles Martinent!

State of Decay 2 – Xbox One, Windows 10 – May 22

The world is in disarray. Zombies are running wild, but if that wasn’t the bad enough, there is a new threat: Plague Hearts. These terrifying bastions of decay are extremely tough to destroy, but worse yet is the fact they constantly produce Plague Zombies. In this brave new landscape, survival is going to require smart planning, tenacity and a community to keep the terror at bay.

State of Decay 2 is a new experience where you have to build and support a community, but more importantly control them. You will build up your base and help out the members of your community in order to stand a better chance at surviving. By going out scavenging, finding survivors and trading with them, fulfilling the requests of your members, and destroying Plague Hearts, you can shape the destiny of your community.

Play solo or online to find the best shot at survival.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon – Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, 3DS, and PC – May 24

Unlocked as part of the stretch goals for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, Curse of the Moon is a 2D 8-bit adventure inspired by games of the 80s. Originally conceived as a prequel, it has since morphed into more of a spin-off and should be enjoyed as a different interpretation of the universe done by the masters: Inti Creates.

In Curse of the Moon, you take control of one of four character: Zangetsu a sword wielding exorcist, Miriam a whip wrangling heroine, Alfred the magic slinging alchemist, and Gebel he can turn into a bat! You can switch between any of the four character at any time and how you interact and meet up with these characters in the game can result in multiple endings.

Dark Souls: Remastered – PS4, Xbox One, PC – May 25

Dark Souls: Remastered sees the first entry in the extremely difficult series makes a triumphant return to current gen systems. Boasting improved textures, 4K resolution for supported systems, 60 FPS, dedicated servers, and an increased multiplayer cap to six.

For anyone who missed the originator of punishing gameplay on the previous generation, this is a great time to experience it from the very beginning.

Detroit: Become Human – PS4 – May 25

It is 2038, Detroit has become a thriving metropolis rejuvenated by the introduction of androids that exist only to serve mankind. Except the city is at a crossroads with three androids’ journeys at the crux of its future. Take control of Connor, Kara, and Markus and see how their stories and decisions can affect the fate of Detroit.

As Connor you are a special police investigator tracking down deviants – androids that have broken their program and have abandoned their owners or have turned to crime. Will you perform your job with cold calculations or start empathizing with your fellow androids?

Detroit: Become Human

In Markus’ story you have a chance to spark a revolution for your fellow androids. After escaping his master, Markus joins a growing group of android dissidents, but will you decide to chose to bring change through peaceful protest or violence?

Kara gives you an opportunity to see the improvised side of Detroit. Only been recently manufactured, she has broken her programming and taken the daughter of her master from her home to save the child from her abusive father. On the run and a deviant, Kara will have to decide how to deal with the world around her while trying to protect her ward.

Much like Quantic Dreams’ previous games, Detroit: Become Human centers around choice and how the tiniest of choices affect a wildly branding storyline. Unlike previous games the level of control and consequences is amped up to a new level. In any encounter there are tons of different ways things can play out, which ultimately affects how the whole story plays out. So now your decisions matter even more as you play through these three androids’ stories.
