Bloodborne: The Old Hunters

While everyone is gearing up for Black Friday (more like Black weekened, amirite?), there are still a few new releases coming down the pipeline. Certainly a much sleepier week than prior ones, there are still some interesting releases to check out as you stalk video game deals online.

This week’s new releases include a new episode of Minecraft: Story Mode, a major expansion to Bloodborne in The Old Hunters, and a David Cage Join with Beyond: Two Souls remastered.

Minecraft: Story Mode – Episode 3 – PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS, Android – November 24

“The Last Place You Look” finds Jesse and his/her crew trapped without much time left. They must find a way to locate Soren, the final member of the Order of the Stone. On their way to finding Soren they’ll encounter many terrific locations including what lies beneath the empty sky of The End.

It is imperative they locate and gain Soren’s aid as his knowledge is the only way to combat the Witherstorm. Can Jesse and crew find him before there isn’t a world to save anymore.

Bloodborne: The Old Hunters – PS4 – November 24

The Old Hunters brings some new horrors to Bloodborne. The expansion sheds some light on Yharnam’s dark and sinister past as new hunters experience the nightmare of the hunters who used to guard Byrgenwerth’s secrets. Waiting in the new nightmare is Brador, an assassin once employed by the Healing Chruch. Brador is imprisoned in a dark cell waiting for someone or something with bell in hand. Making it to Brador will not be easy as all types of new beasts lurk including the Bell Holder.

The expansion includes quite a bit of new stuff for hunters to look forward to including a new world and area, and new weapons and items. Oh and also new trophies. The new world, The Hunters’ Nightmare and the new area, the Astral Clock Tower will have plenty of new enemies including rabid hunters, as well as new hunters to encounter, some even from the Far East. Some new weapons are Simon’s Bowblade, the Bloodletter and the Djura, a powerful gattling gun.

To activate the new DLC, players will have to follow a few steps. You first must defeat the Cathedral Ward boss and examine the altar in the back to change the game to night time. Then head to the Hunter’s Dream and receive the Eye of a Blood-drunk Hunter item from a messenger. After getting the item, you need to head to the Oedon Chapel and leave out the left exit to the square. Once in the square, you need to head to the right end of it to trigger an event, which takes you to the Hunter’s Nightmare. Make sure to light a lamp in the area to fast travel to it.

Beyond: Two Souls – PS4 – November 24

Quantic Dream announced a while back they’d be bringing their two PS3 darlings to the PS4 at some point. Recently they revealed Beyond: Two Souls would release digitally on PS4 this week. The PS4 version of Beyond: Two Souls features a number of improvements over its PS3 counterpart, chief among them is the ability to play the game in chronological order from the start of the game, and the ability to compare decisions with other players at the end of each scene.

Other improvements come in the form of graphics with the resolution bumping up to 1080p, better lighting and shadows, and new touches like motion blur, bloom, and depth of field effects. The PS4 version will also use the DualShock 4 speaker when players are controlling the Entity. Certain fight scenes have increased difficulty and better controls for the action sequences. It will also include the Enhanced Experiments DLC.
