New GTA 5 Promo Art Spotted

For most gamers, the hype train surrounding GTA 5 is unstoppable. Every new image, rumor, or piece of information for Rockstar Games‘ upcoming release is thoroughly dissected in hopes that it might offer just a bit more insight into what can be expected for the next Grand Theft Auto game. When the Pest Control promo art was unveiled late last year, it paved the way for much speculation and additional art.
Now more promotional art (as seen above) has been spotted at Gamestop. This should come as no surprise since Rockstar said GTA 5’s official cover art and additional artwork would be coming by the end of January. With only a few days left in the month, it looks like the company could be waiting until the last possible minute for a reveal.
[adsense250itp]While gamers eagerly await the first glimpse of the GTA 5 cover (and a solid release date announcement), these two new pre-order images are ready to be analyzed. Based on all the information that has been said about GTA 5 over the past few months, the game is going to heavily focus on heists and robberies. Just like any other GTA title, there is certainly going to be a decent share of stealing cars, shooting people and all manner of criminal activities in the quest for the almighty dollar. However, much of the artwork and story info favors the robbery aspect of the game and playable character Michael’s criminal past.
One of these new pieces of art shows what looks to be Michael robbing a jewelry store. Dressed in a fancy suit and wearing pantyhose on his head, Michael is the stereotypical robber out of any number of films. For the most part, the image doesn’t suggest much. The possibility of having pantyhose as optional headgear would certainly add a humorous touch to the game. Could Michael checking his watch suggest that the robbery is part of a bigger heist and he has to meet up with Trevor and Franklin on separate jobs?
The other image shows what looks to be Franklin trying to escape the police in a motorcycle. He is holding a bag similar to Michael’s from the jewelry store. One of the biggest things to notice about this image is the helicopter flying overhead. The “LSPD” under the bottom of it suggests that the helicopter belongs to the Los Santos Police Department. Will players have to avoid police choppers in addition to cars when their star level becomes too high?
Hopefully this latest promo art means that official announcements about GTA 5 from Rockstar are right around the corner. Keep in mind that the release date on these images still says “Spring 2013″. Fingers crossed that next time, a definitive date is given.
