StarCraft 2 – Heart of the Swarm – Kerrigan is out for Vengeance

This week’s game releases include: the first Starcraft II expansion with Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm, a throwback to the very first years of Kratos’s story with God of War: Ascension, an FPS that focuses primarily on the challenge of sniping with Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, and the release of Battlefield 3’s latest DLC with End Game.

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm – PC

Join in on the continuing tale of revenge as Kerrigan seeks to reunite the Swarm to bring hell to Artcurus’s doorstep. Heart of the Swarm also features a number of updates to online gameplay, such as clan and group systems, changes in already-existing unit capabilities, and altogether new units such as Terran Hellbats and Protoss Tempests. Players will also have access to multiplayer replays and an overhauled interface. Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm is scheduled for release on PC on March 12.

God of War: Ascension – PS3

Journey back to the very first years in Kratos’s story – betrayed by Ares into murdering his wife and child, Kratos must now fight for vengeance and the lucidity to come to terms with what he has done. Ascension will offer multiplayer to God of War players for the first time, which features 8 players total in pursuing one objective. Players will also be able to align themselves with other gods, such as Poseidon and Athena, to gain access to new skills and customization options for multiplayer characters. God of War: Ascension is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 on March 12.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 – PS3/Xbox 360/PC

An FPS that focuses primarily on sniping, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 challenges the player with a number of different locales and tactics to overcome any opposition. Players will have access to a variety of in-game tech such as night vision goggles and a realistic experience that accounts for everything from wind direction and speed to player location. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 260, and PC on March 12.

Battlefield 3: End Game – PS3/Xbox 360/PC

Already debuted on PlayStation 3 on March 5, Battlefield 3: End Game features four new maps (each based on one of the seasons), and a number of new hi-tech options that can turn the tide of battle. Players will also be able to access Capture the Flag and Air Superiority game modes, as well as a number of new assignments, trophies and achievements ripe for the picking. Battlefield 3: End Game is scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PC on March 12.
