New Game Releases – July 22nd – 28th

This upcoming week in gaming is offering up the release of Prototype 2 for PC, Malicious for PSN, the release of the fourth installment of Growlanser for PSP, and the destructive fun of Wreckateer for Xbox 360 with Kinect.

Prototype 2 – PC

Fans of the Prototype franchise will be excited to hear that Prototype 2 is finally scheduled for release on PC this upcoming week, after originally unforeseen delays. Play as James Heller who is on a revenge-fueled mission to kill Alex Mercer, the man who unleashed the Blacklight virus on the world. Prototype 2 is scheduled for release on PC July 24th.

Malicious – PSN

Gamers looking for an interesting alternative to your standard dungeon crawler would do well to take a look at Malicious. Having premiered in Japan nearly two years ago, Malicious allows the player to take up the role of the Spirit Vessel, who has been summoned to conquer evil. Your primary armor is the Mantle of Cinders, which absorbs new, unique abilities with every boss you defeat. Promising the ability to jump directly into boss fights, Malicious’s dynamic gameplay leaves quest grinding at the door. Malicious is scheduled for release on PSN on July 24th.

Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of Time – PSP

The fourth installment of the Growlanser games finally comes to PSP, boasting 40 different story endings and over 40 hours of gameplay. Wayfarer of Time takes place two millennia after a cataclysmic event nearly brought the world to the edge of ruin. But when the same entities that threatened the world so long ago return, only a warrior of spectacular power can defeat them. Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of Time is due for release on PSP on July 24th.

Wreckateer – XBLA + Kinect

With the power of your Kinect and the wave of a hand, use magical projectiles to demolish castles infested with goblins. With motion control, aim and fire your projectile, which will allow you to activate special abilities to wreak even more damage. Wreckateer is scheduled for release on the Xbox Live Arcade on July 25th.
