New Game Releases: July 1st through July 7th, 2012

New Game Releases – With the heat of summer in full swing, both casual and hardcore gamers are looking for new video game releases to cool them off. Over the next week we can anticipate a little something for everyone: an MMO, an arcade game or two, and a new introduction to the racing genre.

The Secret World – PC

The Secret World by Funcom

The Secret World by Funcom

Unlike many MMOs on the market today, The Secret World takes place in modern times. But there’s a twist: there is a secret world of magic hidden within our own, and ancient conflicts are slowly rising to the surface. Rife with conspiracies, legendary creatures and formidable forces of darkness, The Secret World promises something of a new spin on a genre that so desperately needs it. The Secret World is scheduled for release on PC July 3rd.

Dungeon Twister – PSN

Based on the turn-based strategy game of yesteryear, Dungeon Twister is an adventure in a dungeon controlled by a cruel wizard. While the player has access to eight characters and their entire gambit of abilities, strategy and survival are the names of the game here. Luck will not have mercy on you; it is either you against 20 missions in single player, or team up with someone that is close to you in level. Dungeon Twister will be released on PSN July 3rd.

Endless Space – PC

Control one of eight civilizations in a galaxy-wide competition to uncover the secrets behind the Dust. Found to have given powers to galactic commanders, the Dust is all that remains of the most ancient of races. Whoever can take control of the Dust commands the galaxy itself. Endless Space offers an enormous amount of worlds to explore, as well as single player and multiplayer options. Endless Space can be found on PC July 4th.

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends – PS3/Xbox 360

Revisit Ferrari’s past and delve into their present with a line-up of 52 of their finest cars. With 36 racing tracks available, as well as single and multiplayer options, the player will constantly be pitched against a challenge. Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is due out on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 July 3rd.

Rainbow Moon – PSN

Stranded in the strange place known as Rainbow Moon, Baldren must contend with an opened dimensional gate which is spewing forth hordes of monsters. Our hero must get home, but the only way for him to do so is construct a dimensional staff that can seal the gate. Boasting 40 hours of gameplay and up to 100 special combat skills, Rainbow Moon is a turn-based RPG that will be released on PSN in the UK July 4th. But players in the US will not see Rainbow Moon on PSN until July 10th.
