New Game Releases: February 17-23

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (PS3, Xbox 360)
This week’s video game releases include a historic trip to the heart of war-torn Europe with March of the Eagles, the latest single-player DLC for Assassin’s Creed III with The Tyranny of King Washington DLC, an adventure into a dark past with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, a quest for honor and glory with Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi, a New York City gone horrifying wrong with Crysis 3, the re-release of some gaming classics with Capcom Arcade Cabinet, and co-op shoot-‘em-up fun with Serious Sam Double D XXL.
March of the Eagles – PC
Travel two hundred years into the past to the heart of war-torn Europe. With Napoleonic conflict on the rise, players will take control of one country – to defend or expand. March of the Eagles features strategic gameplay, the ability to manage both generals and their soldiers, and going head-to-head against up to 31 other players in the quest for total domination. March of the Eagles is scheduled for release on PC on February 18.
Assassin’s Creed III – The Tyranny of King Washington DLC – PS3/Xbox 360/PC
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance – PS3/Xbox 360
Assume the role of Raiden, a combat master in the employ of military and private security companies. Although he is sworn to protect and save, Raiden must go back through his own past to come to terms with the challenges of what has been and to aid in the conflict that is. Revengeance features the ‘ZanDatsu’ mechanic – players will be able to use Raiden’s cyborg abilities to cut through anything, anytime. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 19.
Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi – PSP
Warriors of the Shinsengumi, based on the manga Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, takes the player through cutscenes, two different story modes, and a world of challenge and intrigue. Players can choose from up to six warriors, tap into different abilities such as Fury Mode, which allows the player to unleash a world of hurt on the enemy when their own life is nearly spent. Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi is scheduled for release on PSP on February 19.
Crysis 3 – PS3/Xbox 360/PC
After the alien invasion, New York City has become a jungle of horrors. Assuming the role of the warrior known as the Prophet, investigate what happened to his squad and why a secretive military operation has taken up residence in the ruins of New York City. Players will have access to a wide arsenal of weapons that includes salvageable alien technology, an upgradable nanosuit, and a comprehensive multiplayer experience. Crysis 3 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on February 19.
Capcom Arcade Cabinet – PSN/XBLA
Capcom Arcade Cabinet, serves as a collection of classic games from the mid to late ‘80s catalog, will feature 15 games and different modes in which to play them. Some of the games featured in the release are: Legendary Wings, Ghosts n Goblins, Avengers, Commando, and others. Yet the games will continue to be released over the course of months – leading all the way up to May. Capcom Arcade Cabinet will commence on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade on February 19.
Serious Sam Double D XXL – XBLA
Players looking for co-op shoot-‘em-up fun might want to look into Serious Sam Double D XXL – featuring new missions and well-loved characters, players will mow down rows of enemies with a variety of explosive technology. Serious Sam Double D XXL is scheduled for release on Xbox Live Arcade on February 20.
