Need for Speed: Rivals

/ Jul 29th, 2013 No Comments

Need for Speed: Rivals

The Need for Speed series continues with Need for Speed: Rivals. It will be released for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 on November 19, 2013 and will be later released in 2013 for Xbox One and PS4.

The gameplay for Need for Speed: Rivals will be similar to Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. It is a vicious rivalry between racers and cops. Players can choose to be racers who are out for glory or cops who work together to catch the racers. Switching roles will be easily achieved by approaching a Hideout for racers or a Command Post for police.

Each side will have pros and cons. Racers will be fast and have jammers and electromagnetic pulses, while cops will work in large groups and have shockwaves, roadblocks, spike strips, and be able to call helicopter patrols. Both sides can collect points. The more cops the racers escape from, the more attention and points they will earn. But once the racer is caught, the cop steals those points.

Players will move up the ranks in Need for Speed: Rivals and show off stats and race other players by using Autolog. The next generation of gaming is about blending single player and multiplayer experiences together. Need for Speed: Rivals does this by using a social system called AllDrive. There will be a seamless transition of single player and multiplayer, so it will allow players to join races at any time. Watch out because this could be helpful or hurtful as friends or foes can enter into a player’s race.

Need for Speed: Rivals is set in a fictional place called Redview Country. It will be an open-world environment with miles and miles of road. There will be the familiar features of jumps, speedtraps, and cars that can be unlocked as seen previously in the series. The weather changes as players move forward in the race and have to drive through rain, snow, hail, fog, etc.

Players will be able to make their car look awesome and unique in Need for Speed: Rivals by having paint jobs, performance upgrades, custom license plates, rims, etc. It is all about showing off in Need for Speed: Rivals. Whether it is the look of the car or beating other players. Ferrari will also be back for the first time since 2002!

There are going to be many racing games released this year, especially with a new generation coming, but Need for Speed: Rivals will be a good one to buy if players want to experience an adrenaline rush from an epic chase of cops and racers.
