NBA 2K18 Legend Edition

Former Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat superstar Shaquille O’Neal will grace the cover of NBA 2K18 Legend Edition, 2K Sports announced.

As part of its partnership with Shaq, the special edition of the game will include “special Shaq-themed memorabilia and content.” Bonus items packed with the Legend Edition of NBA 2K18 include a limited edition Shaq poster, five Panini trading cards, exclusive stickers, and Shaq in-game items.

The NBA legend, who was inducted into The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016, appeared in a video to tease the announcement. O’Neal’s former Lakers teammate and last year’s 2K Legend Edition cover athlete Kobe Bryant joined him in the video. It can be watched below.

Two separate versions of the NBA 2K18 Legend Edition will be released. The standard Legend Edition will cost $99.99 and the Legend Edition Gold will be priced at $149.99. The gold version, which is only being sold through Gamestop, includes bonus items such as a lenticular print, five additional trading cards and more in-game items.

O’Neal played for the Orlando Magic, Lakers, Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics during his 19 seasons in the NBA. He was a 15-time All Star, one-time NBA MVP and four-time champion.

2K announced NBA 2K18 will launch Sept. 19, marking the earliest release for the franchise thus far. Players who pre-order the Legend Edition in either form will gain access to play NBA 2K18 on Sept. 15.
