NBA 2K17 Official Trailer Released

2K Sports debuted an official trailer for NBA 2K17, the first gameplay footage unveiled that is not focused on the U.S. Men’s National basketball teams.
Titled “Friction,” the trailer is set to a song of the same name by Imagine Dragons, which will be among the 50 songs on the NBA 2K17 soundtrack.
The trailer can be viewed below.
While this is the only official trailer featuring NBA gameplay from NBA 2K17, the first actual gameplay footage was leaked over the weekend as the game was playable at Gamescom 2016.
Not much is learned from the NBA 2K17 trailer, as it mostly features close up shots of players in action. The video focuses on players who joined new teams this offseason — we see shots of Kevin Durant in a Golden State Warriors uniform, Harrison Barnes suiting up for the Mavericks, and Pau Gasol sporting a San Antonio Spurs jersey. First overall draft pick Ben Simmons is also seen in his Philadelphia 76ers uniform.
The game boasts improved player models and player-specific animations. In two separate shots, we see Los Angeles Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell performing his signature “ice in my veins” celebration and the hands up, head nodding move that Russell and some of his teammates frequently pull off after making shots.
Kobe Bryant, who is retired from the league but featured on special editions of NBA 2K17, is shown wearing his classic number eight jersey and sporting an afro. Classic teams will be featured in the game, but it is not known if Bryant will be a larger role in any game mode.
NBA 2K17 is set to release Sept. 20 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
Expect the information for NBA 2K17 to come pouring in at a fast rate from now until the game’s launch. 2K Sports has been silent about the game, but is expected to ramp up marketing and discuss the game’s modes and features soon.
Seeing Kobe Bryant in the trailer suggests he could be more than just a way to sell limited edition copies of the game. It would be great if 2K announced a top Kobe moments type mode like they did with the Jordan Challenges in NBA 2K11.
