Monster Hunter 4 Trailer Rears Its Head

/ Apr 22nd, 2014 1 Comment

Capcom released a new trailer for Monster Hunter 4 on the 3DS.

The game is already out in Japan, while players in the United States still have yet to receive an anticipated release date. However, speculation predicts a potential Q1 2015 release date. Players can expect full multiplayer via online (as opposed to just local play) as well as a variety of new monsters to go up against.

Monster Hunter 4’s new trailer shows a wide variety of environments and locales the player will be hunting in. Frozen tundras and deserts, to oceans and forests are just a few of the environments players will come across. A very diverse selection of enemies from dragons and crabs to lizards and serpents will be seen. The 3DS version has already sold over 1 million copies overseas. It is expected to do similarly well upon its release in the United States.

Quick Take

Monster Hunter is very popular overseas but still remains in a fairly “cult” status here in America. This newest iteration is looking to up the stakes with full multiplayer support. Coupled with being on the 3DS will spell a successful recipe for Capcom as the game takes on a more social feel as opposed to a solo adventure.
