The Mists of Pandaria Release Party was held on September 24th, 2012 at the Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, CA to celebrate the release of the fourth expansion pack, Mists of Pandaria, for World of WarCraft. Blizzard Entertainment always pulls out all the punches for these events, setting up a huge stage with a giant screen with WoW fans packing the area. There was a noticeable positive energy all around at this event with everyone in attendance anticipating the midnight release of the game in high spirits. GameStop was there taking pre-orders and Blizzard employees were on hand to sign autographs for fans. Top Blizzard staff such as CEO Mike Morhaime, acclaimed game designer Chris Metzen and Senior Producer Ray Cobo were all on hand and answer press questions during the event. We were on hand to take pictures of the crowd including many attractive girls. Enjoy!
As you can see the party was definitely full of interesting characters. Surprisingly there was a decent amount of attractive women on hand. Of course, most of them actually worked at Blizzard! Overall though the crowd was really into the whole event, people were really excited to take pictures with those people that showed up dressed as their favorite characters. Overall there was a really positive vibe and the Mists of Pandaria Release Party was definitely a much better crowd that the Diablo 3 Release Party.
If you’ve never been to one of these things, they’re actually pretty fun to attend. Most people are in a really good mood and Blizzard shows off some behind-the-scenes footage from folks that made the game. In addition some celebrities in the world of gaming tend to make appearances on stage for interviews, plus top Blizzard staff are on hand to meet people in the crowd. There’s tons of giveaways too as Blizzard was giving away NVIDIA video cards and SSDs to some of the folks on-hand.
Overall, the Mists of Pandaria Release Party was a great event and enjoyed by our staff as Blizzard did a bang-up job as always blowing out another fine release for WoW.
