Mighty No 9 Protagonist Gets Facelift

The protagonist of Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune’s upcoming Mighty No. 9 has been updated with a new look, developer Comcept announced in an update on the game’s Kickstarter page.
In the post, Inafune explained that Beck, the game’s main character, went from grey-based colors to a more neutral white-based color scheme in order to reflect his ability to take on various forms and give the hero a more distinct, unique look.
Comcept launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund Mighty No 9 in 2013 and shattered past its funding goal, raising more than $3 million. The game is expected to release in April 2015 for pretty much every platform imaginable.
The design changes make Beck resemble Mega Man a litte less, although the similarities between the two characters are still obvious. Mighty No 9 may differentiate itself from Inafune’s original work in gameplay, but an updated version of Mega Man can’t be a bad thing.
