Microsoft Reveals January Games with Gold
Ryan Bloom / Dec 21st, 2015 No Comments

Microsoft announced the four free games it will make available to Xbox Live Gold members in January as part of its Games with Gold program.
Highlighting the free games is Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition for Xbox One. Killer Instinct is a free-to-play title, but the Ultra Edition includes playable characters Jago, Sabrewulf, Thunder, Glacius, Sadira, Orchid, Spinal and Fulgore along with eight costumes, 16 premium accessory packs and the Killer Instinct Classic game.
Killer Instinct: Season 1 Ultra Edition will be available free throughout January. It is regularly priced at $39.99.
The other free game for Xbox One owners is ZHeros, a 3D beat ’em up making its debut. Players will be able to download the game free from Jan. 16 to Jan. 31.
Xbox 360 owners will be able to download DiRT: Showdown from Jan. 1 to Jan. 15, then they will get access to Deus Ex: Human Revolution from Jan. 16 to Jan. 31. Both games are also backwards compatible on Xbox One.
Quick Take
Microsoft has previously stated that all future Xbox 360 Games with Gold will be backwards compatible on Xbox One. DiRT: Showdown and Deus Ex: Human Revolution are already playable on Xbox One. It would be nice to see new games made available to play through backwards compatibility, but perhaps Microsoft has a bigger announcement planned for January.
