Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition sees the game releasing on all consoles. Tribute Games’ popular homage to 2D side-scrollers comes out for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS Vita, PS4 and PC on February 6.
The Mercenary Kings’ fight against CLAW continues as the two factions fight over Mandragora Island. No matter which King you choose to play as you’ll have plenty of firepower to stop CLAW!

There are more guns to craft!
This is more than simply another port. The Reloaded Edition sees a revamp of the game from the PS4 and PC versions. It expands on the original featuring a redesign, redefinition, rebalancing, and new content.
A lot of tweaks and updates have been added to the game including general improvements and additional features. Now players can buy materials and stronger grenades, preview mission rewards, mission objectives displayed in the mini map, and more.
New content includes the chance to ride around in the brand new mecha-armor in the Steel Solider Mission, and two brand new characters! The Reloaded Edition introduces Frigg, she can jump faster than any other Kings regardless of weapon, and C-Zar, an automaton who can use his thrusters to fall slowly and land on enemies. On top of all this there are new gun parts and knives to craft adding 20 new weapons to the game.

And even more knives to wield when Mercenary Kings: Reloaded Edition releases on February 6.

Our Take
Mercenary Kings was a delightful game during the first year of the PlayStation 4. It wonderfully evoked memories of playing Metal Slug as a kid. After nearly 4 years it is good to see Tribute Games revisit and revamp the game. While the Switch has filled the niche the Vita used to occupy, it is exciting to see the Vita getting love in 2018.
