Mass Effect Creator Leaves Bioware

In a heartfelt letter to his colleagues at Bioware, Mass Effect Creative Director Casey Hudson announced he is leaving the company. Calling this the most difficult decision of his career, Casey stated he would be taking a break to gain perspective on the next phase of his life and “eventually, take on a new set of challenges.”
[adsense250itp]Hudson’s departure is shocking considering that Bioware is in the midst of developing a new Mass Effect title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the now former creative director of the franchise sees great things in the future for both Mass Effect and Dragon Age Inquisition. According to Hudson, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a truly ambitious title with some of the most beautiful visuals he has ever seen in a game, and he believes that Mass Effect will once again “redefine interactive entertainment.”
Confirming the news, Bioware expressed appreciation for Hudson and his contributions. In a post on the official Bioware blog, General Manager Aaryn Flynn praised Hudson for his substantial impact on BioWare and the video game industry as a whole.
The loss of Casey Hudson is significant but it won’t be a devastating blow to the Mass Effect franchise. Mass Effect is entering a new chapter and it’s time for a new visionary to bring a fresh take to the series. It will be exciting to see what a rejuvinated Casey Hudson will come up with after his “much needed break.”
