Mass Effect 3 Firefight DLC Pack Released
Seven new weapons for use in the single-player campaign are included in the pack. Gamers who have been playing Mass Effect 3 multiplayer will be familiar with five of the weapons. They include the Indra and Krysae sniper rifles, Reegar Carbine, Harrier battle rifle, and Geth SMG.
Two completely new weapons are also included in the pack. The all-new Blood Pack Punisher SMG is a sub-machine gun with a second barrel that fires off a round whenever a main barrel burst is fired to take down enemy armor. The Adas Anti-Synthetic Assault Rifle is an electricity-based gun that will help take down robots or enemy shields.
Many fans requested the use of their favorite multiplayer weapons for use in the campaign. Purchasing the Firefight pack will only affect the single-player campaign. It will not unlock access to the weapons for multiplayer.
Once the pack is downloaded, players will have access to the weapons via the game’s locker.
The downloadable content will cost $2 for PC and PlayStation 3 owners. Xbox 360 players will be forking over 160 Microsoft Points for the new content.
Most Mass Effect 3 players have already played through the game’s campaign so the timing of the downloadable content is questionable. However, the Leviathan DLC is set to release soon. The DLC will introduce 3-4 hours of new gameplay to the single-player campaign. No official release date has been set for the Leviathan DLC but it is expected to debut within a couple of months. It will cost $10 or 800 Microsoft Points.
The action RPG from BioWare released in March and has shipped 3.5 million copies across all platforms. It has grossed over $200 million according to a report by EA regarding the Q4 results.
