Lost Planet 3

Lost Planet 3 is set to release on June 25 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, Capcom announced. The game will release on June 28 in Europe.

Capcom debuted a new trailer along with the release date announcement. The trailer tells the story of series protagonist Jim Peyton as he hunts sources of energy on E.D.N. III. After a fall aboard his utility rig, Peyton awakes in a hidden base below the planet’s surface. Mira, the daughter of Snow Pirate leader So’ichi, has rescued Peyton but the newly discovered natives do not seem pleased with Peyton’s research.

In addition to the native humans living on the planet, players will fight against hostile alien inhabitants. Along with his NEVEC research, it seems as if Peyton will have his hands full in Lost Planet 3.

Box art for the game was officially unveiled. The cover features a close up of Peyton in the harsh conditions of the alien planet. Over his shoulder, more of the planet’s icy conditions are visible.

Capcom also announced bonuses for players who pre-order Lost Planet 3.

Players who pre-order from GameStop will receive the Freedom Fighters Pack. The bonus content consists of five multiplayer characters, including Jim’s wife Grace Peyton, head of NEVEC Phil Braddock, Jenette Diaz, Lost Planet 1′s Gale Holden and HUNK from Resident Evil. The Freedom Fighters Pack also includes a pressurized claw and Tungsten carbide drill rig upgrades.

Pre-orders from Amazon will include the Punisher Pack. It also includes the two rig upgrades along with the exclusive Incinerator, NEVEC Punisher and Spit-Fire weapons.

Best Buy pre-orders come with the Assault Pack. In addition to the two rig upgrades, the Assault Pack contains the Assault Shotgun, Customized Pneumatic Injector Gun and Destructeur weapons.
