Lords of the Fallen is set to release for PlayStation 4, PC and the next-generation Xbox in 2014, developer and publisher City Interactive announced.
Development on the third-person action role-playing game (RPG) is being lead by Tomasz Gop, the former senior producer of The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings.
Lords of the Fallen is a fantasy-based, hardcore action RPG with advanced combat systems, class-specific skill trees and demanding strategy elements.
[adsense250itp]The game is set in a newly created fantasy world in which the gods have failed humankind. In the world, characters are deeply divided into two groups; one that follows the Fallen God and one that resists the Fallen God.
Players take on the role of the human Harkyn as he sets out on a quest to defeat a seemingly unstoppable supernatural force. As players advance through the game, they will have to make difficult decisions and the consequences of those choices. Gamers can alter the game’s storyline, the environment and the character with their decisions.
Lords of the Fallen is one of the first games to be announced for the “next-generation Xbox” rather than the standard “other next-generation consoles” being used by most companies. Microsoft is set to reveal the successor to the Xbox 360 during an event at their Redmond, Wash. campus May 21.
No specific release date has been announced for Lords of the Fallen aside from the huge 2014 window. City Interactive said the game will be presented at next month’s E3 in Los Angeles.
