Sony announced LittleBigPlanet 3 will release on Nov. 18 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
For the first time in the series, Sackboy will be accompanied by three fellow sock puppets: OddSock, Swoop and Toggle. Each character has a unique set of abilities that players must learn in order to traverse each level.
In addition to the fall release, Sony revealed that gifts in the form of downloadable content and plush toys will be given to those who pre-order LittleBigPlanet 3 at participating retailers. Pre-ordering the game in store nets a predictably adorable Sackboy plush. Those who digitally pre-order the PS4 version of the game will receive a Dragon Age: Inquisition Costume Pack for dressing up the characters in the game.
Pre-ordering at GameStop gets players the Mythical Creatures Costume Pack. A pre-order at Best Buy includes the bonus Hidden Creatures Costume Pack. Finally, the bonus PlayStation Favorites Costume Pack by pre-ordering through Amazon. Players craving immediate satisfaction can pre-order the game for either PS4 or PS3 on the PlayStation Store and gain instant access to the LBP 3 T-shirt Pack, ready for Sackboy to wear in a current copy of LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet Vita and LittleBigPlanet Karting.
Sumo Digital has taken the reigns from Media Molecule for development of LittleBigPlanet 3 but Sony will continue publish the game.

Quick Take
It’s a smart move for Sony to release the game on PS3 in addition to PS4. It was noted on the PlayStation Blog that the “active community” of LBP fans on PS3 deserves its due, and subtly mentioned that PS3 owners are basically players who haven’t upgraded “yet.” Vaguely threatening or simply confident? Fans will decide.
