LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

The child in all of us is about to have a good day as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group and Marvel Entertainment announced a collaboration to finally bring Marvel into the growing world of LEGO video games. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is currently being developed for a Fall 2013 release and will feature all the aspects of past LEGO titles with a big splash of Marvel stardom.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes features a familiar storyline wherein Nick Fury has to call upon some of the world’s mightiest heroes, including Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Spiderman and more, to save the world from a variety of Marvel’s most famous villains such as Loki and even the almighty Galactus.

The news should come as no surprise as LEGO has been doing a great job of tackling some of the world’s biggest names. LEGO has had considerable succses with famous franchises like Star Wars, Indiana Jones and DC Comics. Marvel has undoubtedly been considered for the massive popularity it currently holds on and off the big screen, along with it’s outstanding reputation as one of the world’s oldest and longest lasting comic book companies.

Tom Stone, managing director at TT Games Publishing has expressed his excitement in the project and promises the inclusion of some of Marvel’s most iconic landmarks. That means the game’s setting will stretch everywhere from New York to locations beyond Earth. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will also give players the ability to unlock over 100 characters from across the Marvel Universe, with everyone from Hawkeye and Captain America to lesser known characters like the wise-cracking Deadpool included. The game promises combat-like action sequences, epic battle scenes, puzzle-solving and a unique story told with playful LEGO humor.

Marvel and LEGO has previously worked together through Marvel’s LEGO toy series but this will be the first time the two have collaborated on a video game.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is likely to release on pretty much every platform imaginable, including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC and Nintendo 3DS.
