[adsense250itp]Day 5 of the League of Legends Season 3 World Championship closed out with fan favorite TSM Snapdragon putting up their closest games yet against Chinese and Korean teams, and GamingGear.eu having some fun.
The first game of the day was Lemondogs against SK Telecom T1. Lemondogs showed some strength early, but again could not find a way to overcome SK Telecom T1 in the mid or late game and faltered to them. SK Telecom T1’s fan favorite Mid Laner, Faker, took the champion Riven in the mid lane and proceeded to show off how to counter the ever popular champion Zed.
The second game put the undefeated OMG against the last place team GamingGear.eu. Despite being beaten easily, GamingGear.eu kept a smile on their faces, and both teams were seen having laughs. OMG’s Support player, Bigpomelo, pulled out Annie in the support role, garnering a giant crowd cheer when the game started.
The third game put TSM Snapdragon against SK Telecom T1 for their second game. TSM Snapdragon had to win games today to make it out of the group stages. Despite great early and mid game plays with TSM Snapdragon’s AD player Wildturtle on Twitch, SK Telecom T1 had superior positioning and team fighting in the end. Despite the loss, the crowd kept cheering “TSM!” and both teams had smiles on their faces. The game was the closest TSM Snapdragon had taken to a Korean team yet.
GamingGear.eu was against Lemondogs in the fourth game of the day. This was another game of smiles for GamingGear.eu despite the loss. At this point, GamingGear.eu had nothing to lose, but they still showed a positive attitude in the game and the crowd cheered for even the smallest plays for GamingGear.eu.
The final matchup of the day was OMG taking on TSM Snapdragon. TSM Snapdragon pulled off another close game, but in the end, lost to a Volibear from the jungle position played by OMG’s LoveLin. Taking the positive attitude that has been running through the day, TSM Snapdragon was having fun in the end of the game, smiling and laughing. The crowd cheered “TSM!” again, over and over, despite the loss.
At the end of the day, OMG still stands undefeated at 6-0 in first place, securing their spot to move out of group stages. SK Telecom T1 is at 5-1 at second place, also fairly secured in their spot. TSM Snapdragon and Lemondogs sit at 2-4 tied for third, and GamingGear.eu is last place at 0-6.
OMG and SK Telecom T1 have more or less secured the top two spots in Group A and are moving out from this group. That being said, the positive energy from the teams below them have been superb. TSM Snapdragon and Lemondogs have put up close games, and GamingGear.eu has displayed such a great attitude in each game.
