Nexon America and Boss Key Productions announced an open beta for upcoming multiplayer online shooterLawBreakers starts today for PC players.
The beta period officially started earlier this week for players who held keys for the beta. However, the beta is now open to all players for free through Steam. The beta ends on July 5 at 9am PT.
LawBreakers is a multiplayer first person shooter with the DNA of arena shooters of the 90s such as Unreal Tournament and Quake. In the game players will choose the Law or Breaker side, each with their own unique characters. These characters are similar to different classes, as each one has their own unique weapons, health pool, abilities, and ultimate attack.
Boss Key has emphasized the unique opportunities LawBreakers’ gravity-defying combat presents during gameplay. These mechanics allow players to jump higher distances and float across maps to strategically get the jump on opponents.
Players who participate in the beta will experience the new map Vertigo. Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Vertigo serves as a high-altitude reconnaissance outpost. The new mode Uplink has players capturing an uplink in the center of a map, delivering it to their team’s base, and protecting it to earn points. Playing five matches during the beta rewards participants with a weapon sticker that will be transferred to the full game at launch.
Lawbreakers launches on PlayStation 4 and Steam on Aug. 8 for $29.99 or $39.99 for the Deadzo Deluxe Edition which contains bonus exclusive in-game content.
