Killer Instinct Update Gets Fighters in the Holiday Spirit

Developer Iron Galaxy is bringing some holiday cheer to Killer Instinct for Xbox One. Update 2.2 will unlock holiday-themed costume accessories for TJ Combo, Orchid and Sabrewulf.
Killer Instinct update 2.2 will also add Riptor as a playable fighter. Riptor, a cybernetic raptor, appeared in the original Killer Instinct game released in 1994.
Every player who owns Orchid will be able to select her holiday color. Gamers who own Season 1 Ultra Edition will be able to use candy cane weapons as Orchid. Season 1 Ultra Edition owners also will be able to use the reindeer head version of Sabrewulf.
Players who own Season 2 Ultra Edition will be able to use a TJ Combo costume that includes a Santa Claus beard and hat.
Riptor is expected to be available for Ultra Edition owners on Dec. 17 and Combo Edition owners on Dec. 23.

Fighting games typically get into the holiday spirit the easy way, with Christmas-themed costumes for playable characters. Killer Instinct is following the trend, but the addition of Riptor is a special gift for players, especially those who played the original Killer Instinct.
