It’s hard to believe, but we’ve almost hit the month of June 2017, and with the start of a new month comes new free games you can get if you’re an Xbox Live Gold subscriber.
Xbox announced the free Games with Gold that will be available in June. The announcement was highlighted by a pair of open-world Ubisoft games.
Assassin’s Creed 3 will be available to download on June 1. The game is an Xbox 360 title, so owners of the older Microsoft console will be able to download it, and it will become backwards compatible for Xbox One. Assassin’s Creed 3, which takes place during the American Revolutionary War, will be available as part of the Games with Gold program through June 15.
On June 16, Bioware RPG Dragon Age: Origins will replace Assassin’s Creed 3 as the free game for Xbox 360. It will be available through the end of June.
Also on June 16, Gold members on Xbox One will be able to download Watch Dogs at no charge. Following a few years of hype, Watch Dogs was somewhat of a let down when it finally released in 2014. Watch Dogs will be available through July 15.
Xbox One owners will also get a chance to download side-scrolling multiplayer title SpeedRunners throughout the entire month of June.
As an added bonus for June, all Games with Gold members will have access to downloadable content for Phantom Dust. The game released recently for Xbox One and Windows PC and is available for free. The multiplayer content pack includes “a variety of valuable skills and abilities” to use in the game. It is priced at $14.99 for players who are not subscribed to Xbox Live Gold. The Phantom Dust DLC is available from June 1 to June 30.
