Jagged Alliance: Flashback

Full Control is now offering backers of its Kickstarter for Jagged Alliance: Flashback the gift of playable nostalgia. The Denmark-based developer has entered into a partnership with Humble Bundle to present anyone who pledges at least $5 to the Kickstarter a pack of classic games.

The games included in the pack are Jagged Alliance, Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games, Jagged Alliance 2 and Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business. All the games will be DRM-free and completely compatible with Windows 7.

The pack will be given to backers a few weeks after, and only if, the Kickstarter is successfully funded when it hits its final deadline on May 23.

“We are excited to be able to offer our Kickstarter supporters this valuable, limited edition classic pack to keep them entertained during the full development phase of Jagged Alliance: Flashback,” said Thomas Lund, CEO of Full Control. “Humble Bundle is a great partner, and we are grateful for their support during the funding phase of what we know will be an excellent addition to the Jagged Alliance brand”.

The Kickstarter to help fund the next Jagged Alliance game in the popular strategy based RPG franchise has accumulated over $110,000. That is not far from its minimum funding goal of $350,000 which if reached will guarantee development on the game will begin.

Even if that goal is reached, the developers have announced they will unveil a list of stretch goals to add further content, including more mercenaries, levels and features to encourage further pledges to the project. These goals will be revealed when total pledges reach at least $200,000.

Jagged Alliance: Flashback is a prequel to the Jagged Alliance franchise. Set during the Cold War era, it tells the story of the events leading up to the formation of A.I.M. (The Association of International Mercenaries, Incorporated). Taking place on the fictional island of San Christobal, players will control a team of mercenaries under the orders of the CIA. The team must restore a democratic government that has been overthrown by a mad general and his U.S.S.R. forces who have established a socialist regime.

The game will utilize and recreate the turn-based strategy, role-playing and management elements of the original games. It will also add in original features such as a cover system, fully customizable mercenaries and a huge world for players to interact with. The latter, Full Control plans, to make even bigger with future expansion packs.

The expected release date for Jagged Alliance: Flashback is set for  late 2014 for Windows, Mac and Linux.
