Insomniac Gives First Look at Sunset Overdrive Gameplay

Sunset Overdrive

Microsoft broke the silence on Sunset Overdrive today by unveiling a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Xbox One exclusive.

Sunset Overdrive was first revealed at E3 2013 during Mincrosoft’s press conference. The game’s announcement and Xbox One exclusivity was accompanied by a teaser trailer. No gameplay was shown but it was hinted that the title would focus on open-world multiplayer with an emphasis on free-running.

Insomniac‘s newest effort takes place in the year 2027 where the corporation Fizz Co. has created a new energy drink called the Over Charge Delirium XT. Coincidentally, a mutant outbreak occurs nearly at the same time. Players will be able to explore the game’s world by running along walls, grinding on rails and wires. Several enemies and factions are encountered throughout the game to fill the world with variety and life. Being an Insomniac game, Sunset Overdrive is obviously filled with unique and ridiculous weapons.

Sunset Overdrive is planned for a fall 2014 release. For more on the game, check out the trailer below.

2013′s colorful teaser for Sunset Overdrive was impressive and only left players wanting to know more about the unexpected Microsoft and Insomniac collaboration. This first look provides a tantalizing glance into the kind of experience Sunset Overdrive will offer. Both the gameplay and world look unique and fun to experiment with. Players should hear more about the game at E3 next month.
