Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Beta Content Revealed

Activision revealed the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare beta content players will be able to experience on Oct. 14.
Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer experience is defined by the six Combat Rigs that serve as players’ customizable class and three will be available for this beta period. Rigs can be equipped with one payload and one trait. Payloads are weapons or abilities that activate over time and boost the capabilities of Rigs. Traits are passive abilities that cater towards certain playstyles and strategies.
Warfighter, Merc, and Synaptic are the three Combat Rigs that will be available. Warfighter is great for players who keep the fight at mid-range and are always on the offensive looking for fast kills and quick support. Warfighter uses the Claw, Combat Focus, and Overdrive payloads along with the Ping, Persistence, and Resupply traits.
Merc is a Combat Rig all about defense and suppressive fire. The Bull Charge and Reactive Armor payloads will protect players from damage while the Steel Dragon is a beam weapon that targets multiple enemies. The Infusion trait regenerates health quickly after taking damage. Man-At-Arms keeps Merc from slowing down with bigger weapons and Shock Wave causes the Rig to slam into the ground and kill opponents.
Synaptic is a droid built for players who use speed and close quarters combat to their advantage. The Reaper payload turns Synaptic into a four-legged melee death machine. The Combat Burst, Propulsion, and Rushdown traits help players maximize Synaptic’s speed to get the jump on others.
Mission Teams introduce a metagame to Infinite Warfare’s multiplayer by allowing players to rank up with teams they align with. By completing missions, the commanders of these teams reward players with emblems, camos, prototype weapons, and more. Beta players will have access to two of the four teams. The JTF Wolverines are the first available and reward aggressive combat. After progressing, the Orion Initiative will become available to reward players who perform well in objective-based missions.
Three maps are open to players in the beta. Frontier is a two-lane map that takes place on a space station orbiting Neptune that caters to fast-paced combat. Frost takes players to a research facility on Juptier’s moon Europa. Throwback offers a wide range of engagement opportunities as players fight up close or far away on a map with elements of a 1950’s “Main Street USA” location.
Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed are the three playable modes that will be rotated throughout the beta. The new teamwork-focused “keep away” mode called Defender will also be thrown into the mix.
Infinity Ward has a few surprises in store for the beta period, along with new weapons, scorestreaks, and equipment. This first beta period will be exclusive to PS4 owners who have pre-ordered Infinite Warfare and it will end on Oct. 17. A second beta period for PS4 and Xbox One players kicks off on Oct. 21 and ends Oct. 24.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Nov. 4.
