Lab Zero Games and 505 Games are bringing the platformer and RPG hybrid, Indivisible to Nintendo Switch in 2018. Indivisible also releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in addition to Nintendo Switch next year.
Indivisible follows Ajna as she ventures out from her rural town after her home is attacked. On her journey a mysterious power awakens within her.
This power allows her and dozens of other “Incarnations” to travel across a huge fantasy world inspired by different cultures and mythologies to track down the warlord who attacked her village.
Incarnations in the game are people whom Ajna can absorb into herself and manifest to fight alongside her. Each Incarnation has their own story and personality, which will help Ajna learn about herself and her world. Tracking down and recruiting the many different Incarnations will play a huge part in the game.
Indivisible was funded partially through Indiegogo and partly through an investment from 505 Games. Backers will be able to test out the developmental progress on the game soon and see what changes have been made based on their feedback.
Changes include new environments, new Incarnations and a bow weapon for Ajna, new and updated monsters, updated battle flow and UI, refined progression, tightened controls, an updated engine, and new music and voice-overs.
The preview will have a new speedrun contest in it. This allows players to prove their mettle and earn a chance for a free upgrade to the $500 Indiegogo tier that includes a physical Collection’s Edition of Indivisible, a t-shirt, physical soundtrack, framed giclee print, a statue of Ajna, and even more.
Indivisible – Switch Trailer
Lab Zero Games gained a loyal fan base with its cult fighting game Skullgirls. The game was beautifully drawn and animated with some solid fighting mechanics. It’ll be interesting to see what Lab Zero Games does with a more traditional single-player game, but if the story mode and mechanics of Skullgirls are any indication. It’ll be something to keep an eye.
Plus more games for the Nintendo Switch, the better. Nintendo needs a packed slate of 2018 releases, even if they are third-party ports, to keep its momentum going into the new year.
