Thunderful Games and Image & Form announced the next entry in the popular SteamWorld series will be SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech. It will launch later this year as a launch exclusive for Nintendo Switch.

SteamWorld Quest is a departure for the series. It is Image & Form’s first try at a roleplaying card game. In SteamWorld Quest, you’ll lead a heroic party of steambots through a hand-drawn fantasy world full of intense battles and a grip of cards. Turn-based battles will require you to craft your own deck by choosing from over 100 unique punch card.

A world of treasure chests full of gold, dragons, magic, knights, and XP await you in SteamWorld Quest. The game is a unique mix of traditional fantasy elements with streampunk robots to create a one-of-a-kind experience.

Image & Form approached SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilamech with the SteamWorld community in mind.  When the developer asked the fans what genre they’d like to see them tackle next, RPG was the number one request. Our Take

We’ve been a huge fan of the SteamWorld series of games. SteamWorld Dig 2 was one of our favorite games in 2018. We can’t wait to see more about SteamWorld Quest. The blending of the quirky steambot universe with fantasy and RPG card elements sounds too good to miss. It launching as a Nintendo Switch exclusive just makes us even happier.
