#IDARB Launching as Part of Games with Gold Program

/ Jan 7th, 2015 No Comments

IDARB Free

#IDARB is set to launch on Xbox One in February as part of the Games with Gold program, developer Other Ocean Interactive announced. The game will be available to download free for Xbox Live Gold members throughout the month.

The game is a competitive couch multiplayer title for up to eight players. The platformer takes inspiration from a range of classic games, including Bomberman, Super Smash Bros/, and NBA Jam.

#IDARB takes a different approach to the 2D-platformer by combining traditional platformer mechanics with hockey and basketball rules.

The game features a ton of customization options, allowing players to create their own 8-bit style characters, build teams, and compose fight songs. Additionally, spectators will be able to interact with the action on screen in a fashion similar to “Twitch Plays Pokémon.”

Players are encouraged to compete against each other in the same room, but online multiplayer will also be available.

Stay tuned to Gaming Illustrated for a complete review of #IDARB.

Quick Take

January has just begun but Xbox Live Gold members should be excited to turn the page to February thanks to #IDARB. The competitive title brings a simplistic, yet complicated approach to platforming that is a breath of fresh air. #IDARB could have a major impact on competitive gaming going forward, but at the very least, it promises to provide a fun party game.
