Horizon DLC The Frozen Wilds Release Date Announced

/ Aug 7th, 2017 No Comments

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds

Horizon Zero Dawn’s first piece of DLC, The Frozen Wilds, will release on Nov. 7 for the PlayStation 4.

The DLC is currently available for pre-order in the PlayStation Store for $19.99. PS Plus members can currently grab it for $14.99. Those who pre-order The Frozen Wilds will also receive an exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn avatar.

The Frozen Wilds DLC

The Frozen Wilds releases on Nov. 7 for PS4.

Guerilla Games first revealed the expansion during Sony’s E3 2017 press conference in June. Rumors about additional content for Horizon Zero Dawn swirled soon after the game’s release this February. Since then, Guerilla has updated the game with a New Game Plus option, patches, and improvements to its photo mode.

The Frozen Wilds is an epilogue to the main game, taking place after the events of the story. It will take Aloy to the Banuk lands, the snowy area north of Zero Dawn’s main map. There she will fight deadly new machines with new weaponry. Based on the imagery seen in the reveal trailer for the DLC and the fact that the base game is set in Colorado, players may be visiting a post-apocalyptic version of Yellowstone National Park.

It may also be interesting to note that Nov. 7 marks the day Microsoft releases the “world’s most powerful console,” the Xbox One X, into the wild. We’ll see if Aloy is up to the challenge of squaring off with one more powerful machine.
