Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment revealed that Hitman 2 will release on Nov. 13 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The release date announcement was made during an official pre-E3 livestream by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment who took over publishing the Hitman series after previous publisher Square Enix sold off the rights in 2017.
Hitman 2 is the seventh game in the Hitman series and takes place directly after the events of 2016’s Hitman soft reboot. The story, as revealed so far, involves assassin Agent 47 seeking out and a mysterious figure known by the alias of the Shadow Client. Agent 47 shall be tasked with assassinating important targets along the way to accomplish this.

Another day, another target for Agent 47.
Details are scarce but the gameplay shown so far looks similar to Hitman 2016 but with a greater emphasis placed on interacting with each of its six locations. Developers from IO Interactive called these locations “hyper-detailed sandboxes full of living, breathing environments” during the pre-E3 livestream.
The most notable addition being implemented into Hitman 2 is a cooperative multiplayer mode, a first for the Hitman franchise. Going under the name Sniper Assassin, players work together to eliminate targets from afar and build up scores. Pre-ordering the game before its release shall grant early buyers the ability to download this mode for play.
