Halo 4 Majestic Map Pack

The Majestic Map Pack for Halo 4 will be released on Feb. 25 for 800 Microsoft PointsMicrosoft announced.

The map pack contains three new multiplayer maps Microsoft describes as small to medium sized. Certain Affinity developed the new maps Landfill, Monolith and Skyline in collaboration with Halo 4 developer 343 Industries.

Landfall takes place in a once-thriving city that is now a graveyard. The corridors and courtyards on the map fail to offer much cover, making it perfect for close-range combat. Jump routes along the outside of the map offer views of the all the action going on in the city.

Monolith is an arena-style map set on an ancient monument. The map will remind players of classic Halo arena maps with short corridors and open sightlines with little cover. Monolith works well for objective-based game modes such as Capture the Flag.

The Skyline map is set on the rooftop of a new space tether construction site. Perched high above the city, the symmetrical map offers beautiful views of the city skyline. Although there is plenty of cover, long sightlines across the map offer a chance for long-distance kills. Skyline will be the smallest scale map in Halo 4.

In addition, the Majestic Map Pack will add two new playlists and one new game map to Halo 4.

Infinity Rumble is the new game type that will be a timed exclusive for owners of the latest map pack. The free-for-all game type awards players with ordnance faster for medals earned, style kills and assists. Players will have to use their ordnance carefully and combine power weapons with power-ups to take down opponents. Spawns will take longer in the new game mode.

The Majestic FFA DLC playlist is for eight players and pits gamers in free-for-all battles. The Majestic Team DLC playlist consists of four-on-four battles with a focus on team play and objective-based combat.

New maps will also be integrated into existing playlists including Infinity Slayer, Capture the Flag, SWAT, Regicide, Doubles and Team Throwdown. All participants in the match must have the content in order for DLC maps to appear.

The Majestic Map Pack also adds 10 new achievements for a total of 250 Gamerscore.

As usual, the map pack is available at no additional charge for players who purchased the Halo 4 War Games Map Pass.

A third map pack, Castle, is set to release sometime in April.
