Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories will be released for PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network this week, Rockstar announced on the company’s official blog.
The games will cost $9.99 each.
GTA: Liberty City Stories and GTA: Vice City Stories are being released on the PlayStation Store as PlayStation 2 Classics. Both games were originally launched on the PlayStation Portable console and later re-released on PS2. The versions releasing this week will be the same as their ported PS2 counterparts and not remastered in high definition.
GTA: Vice City Stories debuted on PSP in 2006 with the PS2 port released in 2007. Much like GTA: Liberty City Stories was a prequel to GTA 3, GTA: Vice City Stories was a prequel to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The game starred Vic Vance and takes place two years before the events of GTA: Vice City.
Rockstar released GTA 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas on PS3 via PSN fairly recently. The company also launched Bully, Midnight Club, Midnight Club 2, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Remix and Red Dead Revolver on the PlayStation Store in recent months. The blog post by Rockstar states the company will be releasing more of its titles as PS2 Classics soon.
