The minute-long trailer is packed with cutscenes from the game, giving players a glimpse into the game’s storyline. A voiceover of Michael, one of the GTA 5’s three main characters, discusses how he got pulled back into the life of crime by his psychotic best friend Trevor. Meanwhile, Franklin talks to a friend who wants him to get into legit business but Franklin doesn’t seem interested.
GTA 5’s official trailer also showcases large explosions and plenty of vehicles. A character is seen wearing a Juggernaut-like suit of armor complete with heavy machinery. The trailer also shows a submarine-like underwater vehicle players will likely use in tandem with scuba-diving to explore the ocean.
With the game’s release date quickly approaching, it is doubtful players will get to see more GTA 5 footage before its release.
GTA 5 gameplay made its debut in a trailer that launched in July. The five-minute-long trailer is a narrated guide through the game’s world. It features locations, gameplay mechanics and recreational activities that can be performed in the game. It also provides some background on how players will be using the game’s three playable characters and the experiences each character is facing every day.
The game’s multiplayer element, GTA Online, debuted in a trailer earlier this month. The online mode is described as a dynamic and persistent world for up to 16 players that is closely tied to the GTA 5 experience. Rockstar expects the GTA Online world to expand through official updates from the developer and community-created content.
GTA Online, the game’s multiplayer aspect, comes as a separate disc included with every copy of GTA 5. It is not expected to launch until Oct. 1, giving players a chance to experience the single-player campaign before exploring the open world with other players. Rockstar has hinted at the possibility that GTA Online could be brought to next generation consoles in the future.
