Goodbye Deponia Receives a New Trailer

/ Oct 16th, 2013 No Comments

Goodbye Deponia

Goodbye Deponia, the final game in Daedalic Entertainment‘s Deponia trilogy, will be released on Oct. 18 via Steam for PC and Mac. In anticipation of the finale, Daedalic has published a brand new trailer which gives players a bit more information about what to expect from Goodbye Deponia.

The Deponia trilogy centers around the adventures of Rufus, a guy who wants to escape his village of Kuvaq located on the junk covered world of Deponia. Over the course of the original and its sequel, Chaos on Deponia, Rufus must rescue a girl named Goal as they find themselves in complex and hilarious situations.

When the first two Deponia games came out, they were just a few of the many adventure games released that year with Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead being one of the most popular. Deponia and its sequel were praised particularly for their charming art style and whimsical humor.

In Goodbye Deponia, Rufus and Goal are once again attempting to escape from Deponia. But their plan hits a snag as the planet is on the verge of being blown up. The new trailer shows off the trademark humor the series is known for while also hinting at some of its more sincere moments as well. The game also adds a nice twist to the puzzle side of the adventure formula by giving players control over multiple clones of Rufus. During many scenes, players will be able to freely switch between the versions of Rufus in order to solve puzzles which take place over several screens.

Be sure to keep tuned to Gaming Illustrated for our official review of Goodbye Deponia. But while you wait, don’t forget to check the official English trailer below.
