Starting this week, GOG, the popular game distrubutor of DRM free games, is holding its first fundraiser to raise money for charity. Running until Nov. 12, the fundraiser is being held to help three charities: Worldbuilders, Gaming for Good and the World Wildlife Foundation.
Money is being raised through a special offer allowing people to choose from at least three titles from a select list of ten games from the GOG catalog. Games featured include The Whispered World, Waking Mars, FTL: Faster Than Light and Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee. In addition to being free of DRM, all include bonus downloadable extras.
Although consumers must choose a minimum of three titles, there is no limitation to how many games can be added after that quota is met. The total price for final bundle is set at a price of $5 that goes directly go to the charity of the customer’s choice. Customers can pay larger amounts above the $5 minimum should they choose to.

All developers, in their efforts to maximize profits going to the charities, will be receiving no financial royalties from the sale of their titles.
GOG has promised that all money earned from the fundraiser will go directly to the charities. To prove this, GOG will match 25 cents on every dollar raised during the fundraiser in order to cover the additional credit card fees required of purchases. This ensures that all profits from the fundraiser go directly to the participating charities.
