Gears of War: Judgment

Gears of War: Judgment is available now exclusively for Xbox 360.

Developed by Epic Games with help from People Can Fly, Gears of War: Judgment is a prequel to the original Gears of War trilogy.

The fourth installment to the Microsoft-exclusive franchise is the first to steer away from the Marcus Fenix saga. Rather than starring the series’ main protagonist, Gears of War: Judgment follows young versions of COG soldiers Damon Baird and Augustus “Cole Train” Cole. The duo were secondary characters in the first three Gears of War games.

Gears of War: Judgment is told in a flashback style as Baird and Cole recall the events of the past during a hearing. The game also features a level that takes place during the events of Gears of War 3.

In addition to the innovative single-player campaign, Gears of War: Judgment has a heavy focus on multiplayer. Players looking to take advantage of the game’s multiplayer elements can purchase the Gears of War: Judgment VIP Season Pass for 1600 Microsoft Points. Epic plans to launch six additional multiplayer maps, two new game modes, nine exclusive unlocks and bonus weapon and armor skins through downloadable content. The season pass gives players a 20 percent discount over the cost of all DLC.

The game will also be getting free post-launch support courtesy of Maxim. The men’s magazine is sponsoring two new multiplayer maps and a bonus game mode that will be available as part of a free update to Gears of War: Judgment April 2.

Launch copies of Gears of War: Judgment also contain a code to download the original Gears of War via Xbox Live’s Games On Demand.
