Star Wars Battlefront The Battle of Jakku

Star Wars Battlefront The Battle of Jakku is available today as the first piece of free DLC for players who own the game.

Gaming Illustrated will be livestreaming The Battle of Jakku DLC on our YouTube channel today. Originally available last week for players who pre-ordered Battlefront, The Battle of Jakku DLC features two new maps and a new mode. Maps take place on the desert planet of Jakku, 30 years before the events of Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens.

Turning Point is a 20 vs. 20 mode that puts the Empire on the defensive. Players on the side of the Rebels must rush to capture one of three control points to push back the Empire’s line of defense. Imperial players need to defend these points because they can’t recover any lost progress. The mode ends when time runs out or the Rebels capture a final control point at the Empire’s last line of defense.

Graveyard of Giants is the featured map for The Battle of Jakku DLC. In the skies a fierce battle is going on between the two main forces of the Star Wars universe. The dunes of Jakku are littered with Imperial Star Destroyers and Rebel ships.

More DLC for Star Wars Battlefront is planned for the future whether free or part of the paid season pass players can purchse.
