Gamestop Black Ops 2 Pre-order Deals
The final Gamestop Black Ops 2 pre-order deals will be coming to a close as the game releases Nov. 13. It has been months since Gamestop, the world’s largest video game retailer, started rolling out these pre-order bonuses for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Now, with only hours left, the time to grab some sweet extras is running out. Gamestop’s pre-order plan looked something like this: there were four waves of bonuses and if you pre-ordered as soon as it was available, you got an item from each of the four waves, but as the game got closer to release earlier waves started to expire. At this point in time, only the last wave remains.
So basically, you can choose between the confirmed chance to get an in-game player card or a chance to enter one of the two sweepstakes for either the trip around LA or the Kawasaki vehicle. It’s also important to note that like all other retailers, pre-orders at Gamestop will get everyone a free copy of the Nuketown 2025 map and access to Black Ops 2 Double XP on Nov. 16 – 18. So you won’t go home completely empty-handed if you don’t win the sweepstakes.
Overall, while Gamestop’s selection of pre-order bonuses is certainly unique, a lot of other retailers are offering interesting deals of their own. A particular favorite is what the Microsoft Store is offering for the Xbox version of the game–you get 1600 Microsoft Points and store credit. Amazon is also offering something very interesting as a pre-order bonus–you get 5 bucks worth of Amazon video and a free e-book hat that talks about the backstory behind Black Ops 2’s main villain.
Wherever you buy Black Ops 2 from, it’s no doubt going to be one of the biggest video game launches in history. As gamers, we can only hope that Treyarch and Activision do an outstanding job.
