During the PlayStation press conference at E3 2018, Capcom teased the first footage of the Resident Evil 2 remake. However, there was much more to see when Capcom developers made an appearance during the Sony E3 livestream.
Gameplay from the Resident Evil 2 remake was shown for about 12 minutes while devs played the game live. You can watch the Resident Evil 2 remake gameplay below.
As you can see, the game has received a major facelift in terms of graphics and gameplay. The original version released in 1998, so some modernizing was necessary. For example, players will be able to build fortifications to hold back zombie hordes. However, Resident Evil 2 will retain its survivor horror aesthetic rather than being a shooter in the vein of more recent Resident Evil games.
Although the Resident Evil 2 remake was present at the PlayStation conference, it is not a Sony exclusive. The game is expected to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Jan. 25, 2019.
