From Software’s Next Game is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Published by Activision

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

From Software’s next game is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, revealed Microsoft at its E3 2018 press conference.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the announcement is that Activision will be publishing the game. The publisher is mostly known for Call of Duty and Destiny, so the Japanese developer is an interesting grab for Activision. However, considering the blossoming success of From Software’s Dark Souls and Bloodborne series, it is a smart idea for Activision to increase what games they invest in.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice takes place in a what looks to be feudal Japan. The trailer instantly gave of vibes of From’s previous games in both terms of visuals and actions. Fast-paced and intense combat is going to be in this new game in spades, as well as a few new ways to navigate, including a grappling hook of some kind.

Shadows Die Twice was first teased at last year’s Game Awards with a seconds long teaser. Speculation ran rampant as to whether the game was a sequel to Bloodborne or an entirely new IP. Now we have a sense of how the game will play and a year when players can get their hands on it.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will release in 2019 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
