Five Reasons Why the iPhone 4S Still Rocks

Apple’s iPhone 4S

When the iPhone 4S was originally introduced by Apple, it represented an amazing leap forward from the iPhone 4 thanks to the sheer speed and power of the device. The big draw for consumers and Apple fanboys alike was simple, the iPhone 4S was a heck of a lot faster, more powerful and had Siri while all previous generations of the iPhone lacked that feature and the robust CPU power. Now that the iPhone 4S has been around for well over a year, it remains one of the most popular smartphones money can buy, no matter what network you happen to be on, be it AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint. Here are five major reasons why the iPhone 4S still rocks.

Reason 1: The iPhone 4S is Cheap

The iPhone 4S can be had at a cheap price, just $99. Of course, there is a caveat that goes along with that low price, being that it must come with a 2-year activation/renewal to take effect. Most consumers are fine with this dynamic as it has become the norm for people to shop for a new phone only when they are upgrade eligible or switching networks. The standalone price is $549, demonstrating that the iPhone 4S is still a beefy piece of tech that is heavily discounted.

Reason 2: The Hardware Isn’t Lacking

While it might not match up to the current generation of phones, such as the iPhone 5 or the Samsung Galaxy III, the iPhone 4S remains a short step behind both of those phones. The CPU is still one of the best on the market and most (if not all) of the apps available on Apple’s App Store will work just fine and dandy on this phone. While it might not sport the latest and greatest chipset, it still is an upper-tier smartphone that nobody can scoff.

Reason 3: Retina Display

One reason you do not want to get some of the older phones from Apple that are floating around is the fact that they don’t boast the gorgeous Retina Display. This represents the best possible resolution available on a smartphone (or tablet for that matter) and anyone that has seen the difference between a retina display and a “standard definition” display knows there is no going back. Simply put, the iPhone 4S is a gorgeous phone with an amazing display.

Reason 4: Excellent Consumer and Industry Ratings

The iPhone 4S is one of the highest rated smartphones of all time and has won countless awards from industry outlets and consumer journals. The phone did get off to a rocky start thanks to the debacle involving the antennae, an issue that Apple remedied in later builds of the iPhone 4S. In addition, bumpers or a good case will solve the issue as well. Don’t buy into the propaganda that this phone wasn’t up to snuff, the fact is that Consumer Reports recommended the iPhone 4S in their official review.

Reason 5: It’s Still Better Than Most of What the Competition Offers

While there are plenty of other smartphone manufacturers out there, none has the sterling reputation for quality that Apple has with consumers. There’s also the fact that the iPhone 4S has more apps and games available to it than any other system out there, be it Android based or otherwise. It’s a great phone and matches up with just about anyone, regardless of price.
