Final Fantasy returns to PC gamers in the form of Final Fantasy 7 which was announced by Square Enix to be sold at a discounted price until September 12th, 2012. The game will be available to Windows PC users via digital download.

There are new features for Final Fantasy 7, including the ability to do cloud saves and do a character booster that will give you the ability to max out your character’s gil, magic and health. Also stated in the press release a new in-game achievement system that will let players explore aspects of the game and share progress with friends will also be in this new release of the Final Fantasy series. In Final Fantasy 7 you get to relive the unforgettable story of Aeris, Cloud and Sephiroth in what many considers one of the truly great classic RPG games.

As stated earlier, Final Fantasy 7 for PC will be released in celebration of the franchise’s 25th anniversary, publisher Square Enix is going to discount the software for $9.99. Following that promotional period the price will increase two dollars for a total of $11.99.

The original Final Fantasy 7 was released way back in 1997 and at the time considered a commercial success. The critically acclaimed role playing game was one of the first to show off a major musical score and actual 3D graphics in their battles.

While the game does not appear on common PC download marketplaces like Steam, it’s stated that members over at the Square Enix website will be able to apparently purchase the game there. Those wishing to purchase the game should head over to the Square Enix eStore.

The story of the game follows the discovery of a natural resource drawn directly from the world’s life force. Cloud is a former member of SOLDIER and joins the anti-Shinra group, AVALANCHE.
