Square Enix detailed a number of Final Fantasy 15 updates and upcoming downloadable content players can expect to be released over the next few months.
PS4 Pro owners will finally get a patch to allow support for full HD at 60 fps on Feb. 21. While the game won’t always run at 60 fps, it can support the maximum framerate. Also arriving that day will be a level cap increase from 99 to 120 (but current experience won’t bank), a photo capacity increase from 150 to 200, the ability to use the music player while riding a chocobo, and limited time quests. Limited time quests will only be temporarily available and will focus on hunts, but at a later point will include quests like fishing.
Final Fantasy 15 season pass owners can download a booster pack on Feb. 21 which includes a boost sword weapon, a dragon mod fishing rod, and the aviol reel. A planned free booster pack which would provide the four party members with invincible Magitek Exosuits has been delayed. The design of the suits was too similar to the suits worn by the Power Rangers and needed to be revised.
March 28 brings the long-awaited changes to Chapter 13 of the game. Enhancements will be made to later game chapters and players will also be able to control Gladiolus for a short period of time. Episode Gladiolus will release on this day, which offers different controls and gameplay from the main game.
In June Square will release Episode Prompto but no further details have been revealed. The publisher will also host surveys for players in different regions to find out what they would like to see in future updates. At some point the ability to free-drive the Regalia outside of designated roads will be worked into the game. Additionally, the Platinum Demo for Final Fantasy 15 will be removed from PSN and Xbox Live on March 31.
